The National League West champion Padres did, barely, end the regular season with a winning record (82-80). They did it by taking two out of three from the Evil Blue Empire (huzzah!). Next stop, St. Louis. (And I live in the StL area. The next week or so should be... interesting.)
AND...
The San Diego Chargers beat the crap out of the much-touted New England Patriots today.
I'm happy.

The Patriots did OK for the first half . . . They may be touted quite a bit, but they aren't the same team this year. I think this year we get to see how good Belichek really is . . .
Congratulations on clearing .500. Good luck in the playoffs. Maybe Boston and San Diego can meet again soon ;<) . .

Date: 2005-10-03 08:59 am (UTC)As for the Chargers: they got off to a bad start, losing their first two games, so SD football fans were kind of down-hearted, so we're, maybe, overreacting a bit to their victories over the Giants and Patriots the last two weeks. Maybe.
