The National League West champion Padres did, barely, end the regular season with a winning record (82-80). They did it by taking two out of three from the Evil Blue Empire (huzzah!). Next stop, St. Louis. (And I live in the StL area. The next week or so should be... interesting.)

AND...

The San Diego Chargers beat the crap out of the much-touted New England Patriots today.

I'm happy.

hissssssssss

:<)

The Patriots did OK for the first half . . . They may be touted quite a bit, but they aren't the same team this year. I think this year we get to see how good Belichek really is . . .

Congratulations on clearing .500. Good luck in the playoffs. Maybe Boston and San Diego can meet again soon ;<) . .

I don't really expect the Padres to make it out of the first round of playoffs. They had good luck against the Cardinals in the regular season, but it would be silly to expect that to continue now.

As for the Chargers: they got off to a bad start, losing their first two games, so SD football fans were kind of down-hearted, so we're, maybe, overreacting a bit to their victories over the Giants and Patriots the last two weeks. Maybe.
