The chair of the Colloquium Committee put the announcement of my talk on the faculty listserve today. This is normal; every department posts its colloquia there. She used my description. This is again normal.
The chair of the Department of Historical Studies responded, "GREAT announcement! I'll BE there!"

The last time I felt this way was the morning of my thesis defense, back in 1985.
(I do know her; we had an interesting discussion of Frankenstein once, years ago. But... I'm a fully qualified mathematician. I am not a historian...)
