Timing

There was a time when I subscribed to four different print news sources: the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Christian Science Monitor, the Washington Post Monthly, and the Economist magazine. Over the years, as new, non-print sources became available, I let them lapse, until only the P-D remained. I've been considering dropping it as well; I basically just got it for the comics, the sudoku, and occasionally the weather report and letters column.

Today, I noticed a message on the answering machine; it proved to be the P-D, giving me a "final warning" that if they didn't hear from me, tomorrow's delivery would be my last. (Odd; I don't recall any non-final warnings from them....)

Problem solved, and with no effort on my part. That's the best kind.
