I finished rereading The People of the Wind last night, and I was planning an essay or two on Poul Anderson, but I'm no longer in the mood. An annoying situation has arisen, which is going to be hanging over me until Thursday of next week. I don't want to go into it, except to say that I brought it on myself; that knowledge, however, does not reduce my annoyance. Nor does it reduce the potential of the situation to distract me from what I should be doing and from what I want to do; so if, for the next week or so, my posts (and my e-mails) are short, sour, or infrequent, that's the reason. My apologies in advance.

Ouch, chum! If we can help (as in shoulder to rant on, etc.), you know where we are...I guess that means I can't make you laugh with any Celine Dion jokes, doesn't it? If humor can't help, it MUST be unpleasant. Just don't forget to pet the Boyz. Should we hear nothing further from you until after next Thursday, know you're in our thoughts that all is perhaps getting *less* annoying, or even better...

No, no ranting. The blame here is entirely mine. Remember what I said about procrastination? There's something I should have been doing, which I've been putting off, and which has just come back to bite me. I'll be able to resolve it, but it'll cost me labor, time, and possibly some money to do so.

Maybe this time I'll learn my lesson.
