New Year's Day

stoutfellowNearly a week gone by without an entry? We can't have that...
New Year's Eve/Day isn't a big deal in my family. We stayed up late on Dec. 31, 1999, but with that exception we've never done much. (I don't recall going to more than one New Year's party in my life, as it happens.) I was awake till midnight, but only because a math problem was bedeviling me. (My efforts met with success sometime around 12:15...) E. and her husband came over this morning, and we went to see "Lemony Snicket" (interesting, but not something I'd go out of my way to see again).
Anyway... The new year's begun, and - for my part, at least - there is potential for it to be a better one than last. I hope the same is true of the rest of you, and that that potential will be realized for us all.
