The subject is the mowing of lawns.
My outer lawn - the part outside the fence - is mowed regularly by a lawn service. The inner lawn... well, for one thing, the gate's too narrow for their machines; for another, there are the dogs to worry about. That part of the lawn, I have to take care of myself.
In the past, I've tried using power mowers, but for some reason they and I do not get along. I've been reduced to using weed-whackers and hedge clippers, which do the job, but take a long time, and the results are only marginally acceptable.
Today, therefore, I went over to Sears Hardware to look for an old-fashioned push mower. No sign of one. Inquiry at the desk was more successful; they had none in stock, but could and did order one for me. Delivery estimate: later this week.
I have a tiring but satisfying weekend looming ahead of me, I think.
