My sister C. is in town for a few days, visiting her in-laws. They're keeping her pretty busy, but we - C., her husband, and I - had breakfast this morning. We went out to Cracker Barrel. The food was pretty good; I had a nice big egg-and-bacon breakfast, the kind I almost never have at home. (I just don't use eggs enough to make it worthwhile buying them.) The grits were so-so, but tolerable with a little butter. (C. didn't like the texture, and she doesn't eat butter, so...) It was good to have a chance to sit down with family; we chatted about the San Diego sports scene, a little family gossip, and, well, this and that. I don't see my family enough. (That kind of follows from living 2000 miles away...) I fly out to SD every year around the holidays and stick around until my birthday, but that's about it - except, of course, for visits like this one.
