My yearly peer evaluations came in, and they're fairly good - better than I was afraid of.
The geometry seminar is going well; we're collectively tackling a research problem, and making good headway. Prof. W enlisted one of his students, who has brought up some ideas which have proven very fruitful. The particular game we're hunting is finding it harder to hide; I bagged another one this afternoon, and am hot on the trail of two more.
The dogs continue to delight; the homecoming greeting I get every day is very welcome.
I'm reading a book on Old English, which is dense enough to make me struggle, but little gems keep popping up. I'm also working my way through China Mieville's Iron Council, which, as usual, flowers with fascinating ideas amid a frankly squalid world.
Life is good. Even the probably dismal news contained in the quarterly report on my TDA is not enough to squelch my mood.
