Missing the Point
Apr. 4th, 2009 12:17 pmI remember an old - probably early '60s - Peanuts cartoon. In it, Snoopy is in the foreground, looking rather frazzled and skittering nervously around. (That's not a good description, but it's the best I can think of.) In the background, an aggrieved-looking Charlie Brown is complaining to Linus about the fact that he's taken Snoopy here to the park so he can frolic, and "by gum he'd better frolic!"
A few minutes ago, Gracie was dancing around excitedly, so I decided to take the dogs out for a romp. Buster was lying in the living room gnawing on a chew-bone. When I opened the back door he came charging over, danced before the outer door, and, as soon as it opened, dashed into the back yard -
lay down, and resumed chewing on his bone.
(Gracie took a couple of steps out, turned around, and nosed at the door. Not interested, thank you!)
