Hmmm. In the Petersburg game, one ought to take into account the most the bank can pay out, just as in the discussion of "doubling up". If, for example, the bank has only $8, then it is pointless to add in the expectations of payments of $16 and beyond. That gives a more reasonable estimate of what to pay to play ;<).
