Break Week
Nov. 19th, 2007 06:34 pmWe have Thanksgiving week off, which is probably a good thing; I'm not feeling at all energetic at the moment.
This year for Thanksgiving I decided to try a chicken in orange sauce recipe that
thnidu posted. I got most of the supplies today at Shop'n'Save, but got home to discover that what I thought was a bottle of soy sauce was a bottle of Thai fish sauce, so I'll have to go back tomorrow or Wednesday. Dessert will be apple pie - store-bought, I'm afraid.
The new things in spam seem to be completely random subject lines ("Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona") or the mysterious "%SUBJ_GB_Simple". (Is that a botched randomizer or something?)
I took the dogs out for a short walk today; I had to lift Murphy down from the porch step. It's only five or six inches high, but he refused to take the hop himself. (Of course I had to lift him back up at the end, too.) As I said, it was a short walk; Murphy only fell down once. I had to help him up that time, too. Poor fella.
This morning, playing Civ IV as Montezuma, it suddenly hit me that I was in the process of conquering the Spanish Empire. Somehow that was satisfying. (Poor Isabella was doomed from the start; there were only a few deposits of copper and iron on the continent we shared, and I managed to cut her off from them early. All she had to put up against my Jaguars and War Elephants were Archers, and they just weren't enough.) I'm currently preparing an amphibious invasion of America. (It'll be difficult; Roosevelt is a tough opponent, especially when he's had time to prepare.)
Just a lazy day....
