When I was in college, a bunch of us from one of the local sf clubs went to see "Tron." After the movie, the theatre majors in the group started up with detailed analyses of every special effect, "they should've done more of x, z, y, & q and less of w, v, etc." When I asked them if they couldn't enjoy the movie without writing a book about it, they replied "no" in unison and resumed their discussion.
