There are, no doubt, better ways to spend an afternoon of vacation than sitting on the couch, sipping fresh coffee and nibbling on gorp while watching Dead Man's Chest. But there are assuredly many, many worse ways.

Very true. What did you think of the movie?

Hmm. First off, it wasn't as entertaining - probably because not as fresh - as the first movie. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though; it struck me as being darker and somewhat deeper than CotBP, especially with the revelation that there are people outside the pirate community who are aware of magic and willing to exploit it.

I like that they're trying to further develop the tangled relationships among Elizabeth, Will, and Jack. (Having Will see Elizabeth kissing Jack, though, is rather hackneyed.) I'm beginning to think that she's actually the most dangerous - because most ruthless - of the three.

Of course, it suffers from being incomplete. I'll have to reserve final judgment until I see the third installment.
