As I've said before, I love cheese; I try to always have some on hand. Fortunately, Shop'n'Save stocks a pretty good selection of cheeses. I cycle among several different varieties; sharp cheddar, Swiss, smoky provolone, and asiago are in the regular rotation, and I'll occasionally pick up mozzarella or Lorraine cheese as well. The last several times I've been picking over the shelves, I've noticed packages of something labelled "Vermont cheddar". It doesn't look like cheddar, being butter-yellow in color and smoother in texture than cheddar normally is, but... well, if I want cheddar, I'll buy cheddar.

Earlier this week, though, on a whim, I decided to give Vermont cheddar a try.

Oh. My.

It doesn't have the sharp tang of good cheddar, but it has its own kind of bite. On toast, it's mouthwatering, and it goes well with ham or Canadian bacon.

This is the second new variety of cheese I've discovered in just under a year. What else - what other delights - am I missing?

I think I should try to find a real deli and just grab a little of everything.
