stoutfellowI finished off the pulao today. I'd been hoping to stretch it to five or even six days, but it only lasted four. Ah, well, it was good while it lasted. (And as the saying goes, "the best always comes last"...)
This semester, I'm getting a ride home Monday/Wednesday from a Korean colleague. Monday, on the ride home, we got to talking about Korean and USAn holidays. At one point, Thanksgiving came up, and I mentioned my habit of cooking something I'd never tried before every year on that day. She said, "You want a challenge? Something Korean?" I replied, "Well... if you can give me a recipe..." We briefly discussed my tastes, and she said she'd try to come up with something. I'm a little, mm, edgy about the prospect, but we'll see.
Yesterday, there was a package on my doorstep when I got home; I now have the Starburst DVDs of Seasons One through Three of "Farscape", plus the first two-thirds of Season Four. I need to get the final third, plus the "Peacekeeper Wars" mini-series, and I'll have the full set. I don't know when I'll have a chance to watch them, though; I'm currently going through the unaired episodes of "Wonderfalls".
I'm putting the finishing touches on a new paper, titled "On the Derivative of a Vertex Polynomial", and will be submitting it soon. I still haven't heard back about the two papers I sent in last year; I should probably noodge the editor.
