W-w-w-winter
Jan. 29th, 2019 03:44 pmToday, I had no classes, though I did have office hours in the early afternoon. By the time I left campus, around 2 PM, the onrushing cold weather had hit. I was able to get to home and warmth before things got *really* nasty, but the wind chill is already down to 13F, and it's going to get worse.
Tomorrow, I have classes until 7:15 PM; I won't get home until about 8:30, at which point the temperature is forecast to be around 8F and the wind chill subzero.
I'm almost tempted to hope for campus to be closed, but a) in my thirty-plus years here, that's never happened, and b) losing days in my classes is dire. (Those classes meet MW only, and we've already lost one day to a holiday; we really can't afford another.)
:sigh:
On the plus side, I made good progress on Taxonomy II, finishing quadrilaterals and pentagons and getting a good start on hexagons. I'm thinking I should have this one wrapped up by the end of February, and out the door sometime in March. Fingers crossed that no snags crop up.
