Election Season

I've been receiving mail, both physical and electronic, from candidates and their supporters for many months now, but now we're shifting to the physical: I've had two people knock at my door in the last hour or so. Fortunately, both were for candidates I support, and I was able to tell them so (thus averting a lengthy discussion, or rudeness on my part).

One of the candidates, running for re-election to the State Assembly, used to be one of my co-workers - two offices down the hall. She resigned from the department when she was elected two years ago. This is a pretty conservative area in general - our congressman is hardline GOP - but the Assembly district is more liberal, as most university areas are.

One more month to the showdown....
