The ductwork for my heating/AC includes a number of vents, consisting of grillwork on top with a lever to adjust louvers below, and a rectangular tube of metal holding the two together.
Today, when I came home, one of those vents was dangling from Buster's collar. He was trying to be lively as usual, but having a heavy chunk of metal banging his right foreleg put a crimp in things.
Apparently, he had lain down on the grillwork and one of his dog tags had slipped through and then turned sideways; when he stood up, he pulled the whole combo out. I had to take off his collar, turn the tag (with some difficulty) so it could slip back through, pull it out, and restore his collar.
A few months ago, there were four tags on his collar. Now, there's only one. I'd been wondering what happened to the others.
