It appears that this area's period of immunity is coming to an end. We've got a Winter Storm Warning in place from 3:00 this afternoon till 6:00 tomorrow afternoon. It's not a patch on what the Northeast has been experiencing (and experiencing, and experiencing...) - only 6-10" - but NWS is saying "travel will be extremely difficult if not impossible".

I'd say it's 60-40 the university will be closed tomorrow. I am, as usual, torn by the prospect.

[Seriously, I don't want to lose another Monday. MLK Day knocks out one Monday, and staying on pace in my MW classes will be more difficult with another lost day.]

[The current temperature has climbed to 11F. I'm glad I did my big grocery run of the week yesterday morning.]

Snow Day

Yep, I was right: word just came down that all classes are canceled for tomorrow.

Looking outside, I see the same concrete-and-grass layout I've mentioned before: the streets and sidewalks (and other non-grassy places, like roofs and satellite dishes) are white, while lawns seem to be clear. (Seem only; there's probably scattered snow here and there, but it's not sticking the way it is on concrete.)

Ah, well. We'll survive; and at least we're not facing yet another blizzard!
