Toad Words
Aug. 2nd, 2014 06:39 pmThe ever-delightful Ursula Vernon is about to release a collection of stories, most - but not all! - of which have appeared on her livejournal (
ursulav) in the last few years. If you haven't encountered her quirky brand of fantasy yet, give yourself a treat. (She hasn't decided where to epub it; I'll announce it as soon as I hear. Or you could just start following her....)
(If you don't know, she was the creator of the Hugo-winning series Digger, which I've hyped here before - and if you haven't read that, what are you waiting for?)
("Quirky" may be misleading. Her work is by turns farcical, ironic, and gravely touching, and it is above all humane. On that last score, I know of no one comparable but Lois McMaster Bujold.)
