The CDs arrived on Thursday, as promised, and I've begun listening to them.
Of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, I will only say that they are lively and entertaining; to say more than that, I'll need to listen attentively, hauling the remnants of my high school Spanish up from the deeps. (I can read Spanish with reasonable facility, but understanding spoken Spanish - unless it is spoken very slowly - is much more difficult for me.)
I was drawn to Sara Bareilles after James Nicoll posted a video of her "Gonna Get Over You"; I bought The Blessed Unrest as a result. The first track is "Brave", which is a delightful song of encouragement (en-courage-ment). She has a good voice; it's kind of brassy, and reminds me somewhat of Sophie B. Hawkins. There's a decent variety of themes to the album, as well. I'll probably buy more of hers in future.
Right now, I'm listening to Pete Seeger's Greatest Hits, and I'm going to hold off on evaluating it. (I liked "Little Boxes"; I'm not sure about his version of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone", though.)
