I sent off the revised version of the prisms paper yesterday. I'm not happy with the last bit of revision, but I don't see what else I could have done.
The referee's second major recommendation was that I discuss the problem of non-simple closed geodesics, at least a little. Unfortunately, though I've poked around at the edges of that problem, I've made very little progress. In the cover letter, I wrote:

As to the suggestions regarding discussion of the non-simple case, so far I still have no more than fragmentary results, and in particular cannot answer the question concerning the existence of arbitrarily long closed geodesics on general rectangular prisms. I have added a brief and inconclusive note on non-simple closed geodesics to the end of Section 2, but that is the best I can do at present.I hope that will be enough.
