Bad Homecoming
Nov. 16th, 2011 05:04 pmWhen I came home from work this evening, I was not greeted at the door. I looked all over the house, the back yard, the basement, the garage: nothing.
Buster and Gracie are missing.
I called the animal shelter and Edwardsville Animal Control; no dogs have been brought in today.
I am torn between fear, rage, and grief.
Later: Relief. I began making the neighborhood rounds, starting with my kitty-corner neighbor, and there they were. They had shown up on my neighbors' back porch, and they took the dogs in. They left a note on my door, but apparently it blew off.
Thank you, Lord.
