Resolution
Jan. 17th, 2011 05:53 pmWell, so far, since returning from California I've managed to keep one resolution, to fix more of my own meals and rely less on frozen dinners. Last week, I made a batch of pork stew - filling, but nothing to write home about - and today I made rizotto corine again. That is, I tried to make it; I'd already sliced up the bacon and the chicken when I realized that I'd forgotten to buy tomatoes. (Just as well; I still don't have the hang of blanching.) Even without the tomatoes, it was delicious, and should be even better in the days to come.
I had ambitions for today, since I didn't have to go to work, but little came of them (apart from making the rizotto). I finished rereading On Blue's Waters (and this time I think I understood it, more or less) and am well into volume two, In Green's Jungles. Other than that, I took the dogs for a walk, took a couple of extended naps (I find that coffee, in small amounts, knocks me out), and in general lolled around. I'll get things done tomorrow (he says...).
