Miscellany
Oct. 30th, 2010 11:45 am1. W sent our paper on convex deltahedra off to the Moscow Mathematics Journal on Thursday. (They've published papers on related topics before, so they look like a good choice.) T gave a talk on our results at Washington University Wednesday, and it was apparently well-received. (This is good; Wash U isn't absolutely top-tier in mathematics, but it's not far from it.)
2. I just got back from the groomer with Gracie; next Saturday will be Buster's turn. This is the last grooming they'll get until spring; they'll need their coats when winter sets in.
3. I just recently finished Safavid Iran: Rebirth of a Persian Empire and Advice and Consent: The Politics of Judicial Appointments. The former was interesting, and I'll review it later. The latter mostly told me things I already knew, although the historical perspective was of some interest.
4. I finished Cryoburn and am not quite halfway through All Clear. (I should finish the latter this weekend.) I don't have much to say about Cryoburn; it's decently interesting, but not LMB's best work by a long chalk. ("It's my turn", though, has joined "He was a saint" on my list of tear-inducing lines.)
