1. The Padres are still in first, and since they and their closest pursuer are both idle today, they will be in first tomorrow too.
2. I have retrieved my theorem; I realized I was looking at things in the wrong way, and once I changed my POV everything fell into place. It's a much stronger result now. (The seminar meets tomorrow. Hopefully nothing will get blown up this time.)
3. Gracie likes the new rope-toy too. Last night, Buster was outside barking at... whatever he barks at, and Gracie took the opportunity to grab the toy. She spent a couple of happy growling minutes playing Shake-the-Rat with it. The knots on either end are almost as big as her head.
4. I hate, hate, hate office politics, and unfortunately I can't avoid involvement in this latest go-round.
5. I'm reading Rushdie's The Satanic Verses, which is quite a bizarre story, and also a history of Korea. The latter is a bit sketchy in places; I suppose that's a side effect of trying to cover two or three thousand years in a reasonably-sized volume. I should probably stop buying general histories, in favor of those which either trace specific trends over a long time or give a detailed description of a short one.
6. Classes end a week from tomorrow, and finals are the following week. I won't be teaching this summer; I hope to get some research written up and submitted for publication. (Not just the seminar work; I have a couple of other irons in the fire.)
7. I'm tired. I have no classes or meetings today, so I'm staying home, hoping to recharge a little.
