Almost Done

The semester's over; I still have a couple of stacks of finals to grade, but that won't take too long.

It turns out that I won't be teaching the Mathematical Reasoning course this summer after all; it was given to someone else. (I knew this was a possibility, and had told the chair it would be fine.) This has mixed effects; on the one hand, I won't get the extra pay, but on the other I'll have a good deal more free time - and there are several things that become possible as a result.

My Master's student gave her presentation yesterday, and passed easily. (She was greatly relieved; she has a job offer which was contingent on her getting this degree this spring.) Her paper contains some very interesting results, and I'm going to see about getting them published as a joint paper. (She'll get first billing, if and when.)

Thinking about wandering over to Borders today....
