I'm still in the process of determining which doggie-treats Buster and Gracie like. Most recently, I bought a box of Milk-Bone Mar-O-Snaks. These were among Ben and Murphy's favorites, and they come in nice big boxes so I don't have to restock as often.
Buster and Gracie will eat them eventually, but before they do they treat them as prizes. Whoever gets one will carry it off and put it down somewhere, but must remain on constant guard lest the other snatch it. (Gracie is apt to forget about it, and gets upset when, as might be predicted, Buster takes it away.) It's a bit disconcerting to be petting a dog who tenses up whenever the other dog comes in view. I think maybe I should find them a different brand of treat.
On an unrelated note, this morning as I was dressing Gracie tried to run off with my socks. (No, I hadn't yet put them on.) A sharp "no-no-nooo!" persuaded her otherwise. First time she's tried that.
