Impatience...
Aug. 14th, 2004 07:20 pmgot the better of me, and I paid a visit to Amazon's music store today. Two of the discs I ordered I already have on vinyl - Al Stewart's "The Year of the Cat" and the eponymous "Blood, Sweat & Tears". (Ready to forgive me,
allyra? I promise, I'll hit Chicago on the next pass.) I also ordered:
- an album of duets by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong;
- a Kingston Trio album (titled, like the one I already have, "Greatest Hits", but there is almost no overlap; this one has "Tom Dooley" and "Reuben James");
- "The Essential Cyndi Lauper" (including "True Colors" and "Time After Time");
- "Tammy Wynette - 20 Greatest Hits"; and
- a Gene Pitney album with five of the six songs I was looking for.
There was one Petula Clark album with "Two Rivers" on it, but it was out of stock. I also looked at Skeeter Davis, but wasn't too happy with the selection. There's a new one - or rather, a new collection - of hers coming out next month that looks good.
