Books! Music!
Jul. 19th, 2006 06:52 pmI note that I've been ordering nonfiction books at a rather faster rate than I've been reading them, so on my latest trip up the Amazon I mostly went with fiction, primarily from various series that I've been following. The package arrived about half an hour ago; the contents are under the cut.
Books:
I also ordered a couple of CDs, scratching longstanding itches; they're both Greatest Hits CDs, one of Desmond Dekker ("Israelites") and the other of Mary Hopkin ("Those Were The Days").
Should keep me busy for a while.
Books:
- Neil Gaiman, The Wake. (Sandman, v. 10) And that wraps it up for that series.
- Mark Helprin, A Soldier of the Great War.
- George Macdonald Fraser, Flash for Freedom. The third of the Flashman books; this time he's caught up in the slave trade.
- Bernard Cornwell, Sharpe's Triumph. Another in the Sharpe's Rifles series.
- Janet Evanovich, Two for the Road. The second Stephanie Plum novel; I reviewed the first here.
- Kevin Mattson, When America Was Great. My only nonfiction purchase, about USAn liberalism after WWII.
- Julia Spencer-Fleming, To Darkness and to Death. Number four in the Fergusson - Van Alstyne mystery series.
- Rosemary Kirstein, The Language of Power. This is the next book in the Steerswoman series, and I've been told that it should appeal to me specifically.
I also ordered a couple of CDs, scratching longstanding itches; they're both Greatest Hits CDs, one of Desmond Dekker ("Israelites") and the other of Mary Hopkin ("Those Were The Days").

Date: 2006-07-23 10:33 pm (UTC)It's a nice selection. My ferengi side is strongly suspecting that you could've gotten most of them cheaper on half.com or eBay, but you may not've wanted to work that hard.
Enjoy your play-pretties!
