Well. There are four shows that I've been watching regularly this year, and three of them delivered good-to-excellent season finales. Ellen, you know the drill.
Wow. Joan's in a very dark place right now. She made that one last desperate grab for faith by confessing to Adam, and he let her down. I don't blame him; who would believe a feverish girl, after having been told that she may have been hallucinating for months? But it destroyed her. On the other hand, I think we got our first unequivocal evidence of the reality of Joan's experiences, in Helen's dream. I can see explanations for most of the rest of this season, but not for that.
I'm tempted to read The Dark Night of the Soul sometime this summer.
On a lighter (?) note, there was the Grace-Luke kiss. I've seen it called a "Sam and Diane moment", but I can't agree. Luke knew exactly what he wanted and what he was doing, and just pushed until his suspicions were confirmed. This is going to be interesting... I also appreciate the way Luke's choice of words becomes very formal, even stilted, when he's talking about passion; we've seen it several times this year, and I know that one from the inside.
Great show. Great finale. I'm counting the days.
