Does anyone know of an alternate-history story in which Andrew Johnson was removed from office and the fire-eating Radical Republican Benjamin Wade became president?

It’s the same if Trump will be removed from the office and Pence became president.

I doubt that, because Wade's position on Reconstruction was vastly different from Johnson's. Pence and Trump are not that far apart politically.

Agreed, because religiously they are far away from each other and as result very close in their right conservative politic’s views...

The alt history I would like in that case is the one where Grant can't get his paperwork done in time and accepts Lincoln's invitation to the theatre. (the entirely real and historical invitation!)

Grant was at the time in his early forties and would have had to wear the very fancy (but also high quality) presentation sword he detested. I don't have much trouble seeing an outcome with a completely unsuccessful and eventually-hanged-with-one-hand assassin.

There was a story, "The Lost Years", in Boucher's _Treasury of Great Science Fiction_ in which Lincoln was not assassinated. Unfortunately, it's in the volume that got lost in one of our moves, and I don't remember anything else about the story.
