Quick Trip

I just made a small set of purchases at Amazon: Bujold's new "Knife Children" story, a sequel to the Wide Green World tetralogy; Pat Wrede's Lyra Novels, which are on sale; and another try at Joan Jett, this time the "I Love Rock'n'Roll" album. I've got a dozen spoiler messages sitting in my Bujold folder, and I need to read "Knife Children" so I can catch up. The inimitable [personal profile] filkferengi broadcast the Wrede sale. Both of those were e-books, and should already be sitting in my Kindle PC folder; I'll have to wait for the JJ album. (I have the right to auto-rip it, but it can wait.)

Totes!

The big grocery box I take for my major shopping runs at Schnucks is nearing the end of its useful life - it's beginning to tear at the bottom. Shop'n'Save used to sell them cheap - $.99 at first, later $1.50, and they'd last a year or two. Unfortunately, Schnucks doesn't carry them. I'll have to find another source.

An online search shows that Amazon sells grocery totes, but they're pretty expensive. They'd have to last multiple years to be worthwhile. Has anyone tried them, or is there another source I've overlooked?

Adventure...

I've started reading "Knife Children", and just hit the first (for me) laugh-out-loud line: "the maze of twisty patrol trails, all looking alike to the unfamiliar eye". An in-joke, definitely, but unmistakable to anyone who ever played "Adventure".
