Incoherent Rage

If there is anything essentially trivial that is still capable of driving me into spluttering, impotent fury, it is this: web pages that disable the "back" button. Here I am, peacefully browsing; I click on a link from one of my favorite pages, look at the material, attempt to return - and am frozen in place.

Three times in the last hour.

If I ever run amok, something like this will trigger it.

Good thing you don't drive, then. It limits the Amok Range (g)!

The annoying sites somehow do something so that their page is always your "last page visited," so the back button isn't precisely disabled, it just always jumps you "back" to the same page. If your browser has a drop-down list attached to the Back button (IE does), you can usually bypass this annoyance by using that to go two pages back.

Well, yeah. I was just too busy foaming at the mouth to think of solutions.
