National healthcare. Now. Is about the only thing I can say.

We are failing our moral duty in so many ways...

Precisely. I do not understand the moral/ethical reasoning behind having one's health care tied to who one works for.

If anyone can explain it to me, I'll be happy to listen (no, I don't want the historical explanation, thankyouverymuch).

Grrrr.

Apparently nothing is too good for our troops.

But we haven't figured out how to give them _less_ than nothing yet.

Is there anyone left that Bush and Co hasn't betrayed yet?

Ridiculous. I don't even have the words to express my disgust.

Er...

It's possible that all that is both stated and implied is true.

But, my father (the veteran!) is ineligible for VA care and neither I nor he would object to this. The money for the VA is not meant for retired admirals who also put in nearly 20 years in the private sector. (nuclear engineers don't really have a hard time finding good jobs, after all)

This, and the fact that the article seems to think that quality of care is Just! Fabulous! when I have seen other articles excoriating our VA services for being far less than that (and only during Republican administrations: Gorbellied fustillarian &! reporters) puts my B.S. meter into the red.

I'll look into it at some point--right now I need to try to get my youth group organized to reach the anysoldier guys by Christmas (among other chores coming down the pike) If there's any truth to it, I'll certainly be writing my congresscritters (and passing the word on the relations to do the same) and raising a stink.
