Bleah. Sure, let's ban a nice innocuous substance with thousands of non-drug-related uses so that we can encourage the dealers to make crack cocaine out of such harmless-to-ingest things as ammonia. Nice going.
It *might* be a joke. If I were a legistator who wanted to draw attention to the stupidity of the pseudoephedrine law and possibly get it repealed, I might push for a similar law (or series of laws) using the same rationale but which would inconvenience a great many more people.
But I suspect the guy is for real, and heartened by the "success" of the existing pseudoephedredrine regulations.
