Walk, Don't Jump

I've mentioned before my efforts to help Murphy with his difficulty jumping. Stage one was buying and installing doggie steps so he can climb up to the doggie-door instead of having to jump up. Stage two... When I first installed the doggie-door, these many years ago, I put it too high; the bottom of the opening was about 9" above the base of the door. Rather than buy a new door and install a doggie-door properly, I decided just to remove the frame of the doggie-door and extend the opening downward. Remembering how much trouble I had with the initial installation, I went over to Sears Hardware and discussed matters with their Tool Guy. He recommended the appropriate saw, blade, and settings.

This morning, I did the job. Well, not quite; there are a couple of loose ends that need tidying, but the basic setup is right, and I've verified that Murphy can just step through. It ain't pretty, but it works, and at least for the time being Murphy's needs have been met.

(Now, if he'll just use it instead of piddling in the house...)

Congratulations on the remodeling for your stair-challenged Boy! Maybe the piddling is punishment for your trip (g)?

My brain hurts from the song/artist juxtaposition. I like them both, but together? Ouch.

Meanwhile, here's hoping for peregrinatory, pre-prandial piddling. [cue up Snagglepuss] "Exit, stage outside!"

:)

Yeah, it's a strange one all right. Her interpretation of the meaning of the song, um, isn't quite what the Zep had in mind...

But at least her voice is gorgeous.

Should I send you some listening copies of interesting things? Since you're [allegedly ;)] not teaching, would you like a call?
