Relief

I think teaching is good for me.

I spent most of today with a persistent headache. It finally went away an hour or two ago, but the morning and much of the afternoon were rather unpleasant... with one exception. I'm currently working with my Master's student, leading him through some material he'll need to know in order to tackle the problem I have in mind for him; this morning, I spent about forty-five minutes telling him about the structure of isometries and similitudes in the plane. During that time: no headache. Afterward, he left; I went back to my office, and had to pull the aspirin bottle out of the right-hand drawer. The headache persisted for the rest of the afternoon.

I've mentioned before the way teaching overcomes mild fatigue, for me; now there's this. I think teaching is good for me.

Is it similar to the contact high from hanging out with listies?

One-on-one interaction of similar minds rocks.

And, oh, yeah--yay, you! :)

Now if you could only *bottle* and market it! (g)

I'm sure your students enjoy your enthusiasm, as well.
