Mr. Prosser's Secret

In the opening chapters of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, we are introduced (briefly, since the Earth is about to be destroyed) to one Mr. L. Prosser, who has a frustrating encounter with Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect. Mr. Prosser has a remarkable secret, of which even he is unaware, but which Adams milks for considerable humor.

The Salmon of Doubt includes a short story in which the character who insults everyone in alphabetical order gets to Genghis Khan. I wonder when he'll get to Mr. Robinson.
