I've posted some pictures showing some of what I described on my Facebook page.

There was some scattered activity on triangle geometry in the nineteenth century; the current burst of study began about twenty years ago, and is being pursued by a small but dedicated group of scholars. (John Conway, inventor of the Game of Life - the one played with counters on a go board, not the Milton Bradley game - is one of them. But then, he's got his fingers in a lot of pies.)
