Many a Mickle Maks a Muckle

This is disconcerting.

I don't watch much television. Really I don't. But if you spread "not much" over enough years, it becomes "much", I guess.

The latest issue of TV Guide includes a silly article on "The 20 Hottest Kisses of All Time". Lists again... I am disturbed to find that I've seen ten of the twenty, six of them on first airing. (For the record, with first-airings starred: Ross/Rachel*, Sam/Diane, Maddie/David, Kate/Sawyer*, Buffy/Spike*, Alex/Ellen*, Hawkeye/Hot Lips, John/Aeryn*, Luke/Lorelai*, Kirk/Uhura. No, the kiss from The Princess Bride wasn't on the list.)

A fair number of the ten listed here are characters I've never even heard of. I really *don't* watch much TV.

Well, actually, quite a few of the ten that I didn't mention were people I'd never heard of either. Maybe I'll post the other ten after I get home again, for comparison purposes.

Okay, the other ten, none of which I've seen, were: Father Ralph/Meggie ("The Thorn Birds"); Carrie/Big ("Sex and the City"); Susan/Mike ("Desperate Housewives"); Pacey/Joey ("Dawson's Creek"); Sidney/Vaughn ("Alias"); Marissa/Ryan ("The O.C."); Carol/Doug ("ER"); Luke/Laura ("General Hospital"); Mulder/Scully ("The X-Files"); Trista/Ryan ("The Bachelorette"?). [The ones I did see are from "Friends", "Cheers", "Moonlighting", "Lost", "Buffy", "Family Ties", "MASH", "Farscape", "Gilmore Girls", and "Star Trek", in that order. I note in passing that six of the twenty are from shows that are currently on the air - one a soap opera - and seven more are recent - as in "aired in this century". A certain pro-contemporary bias there, I'd say...]
