Ooh, Shiny!

The Digital Atlas of Roman and Medieval Civilization looks neat. It allows you to select from about three dozen different map-topics ("Bishoprics ca. 600", "House of Burgundy C14-C15", "Islamic Centers C7-C15", "Elevation", etc.) and then displays a map of western Eurasia showing all and only those items. (I suspect, given the eclectic nature of the topics, that more will be added as time passes.) This is what maps should be.
