I did a quick Google for the lyrics of Denver's version; one site says it's "I'll bring your wedding ring". (That doesn't sound good to my ear, frankly; I'd have chosen "I'll bear..." instead.)

I still think it has slightly different resonances depending on the gender of the narrator.
