It's been about that long for me as well. We moved to Edwardsville from Granite City in '84. I graduated from EHS in '86 and started at SIUE shortly thereafter. (I completed about 2.5 years.) I remember several winter days when I wished they'd closed the place! *g* I didn't know this at the time, but I've got heart trouble, and that walk from the parking lot to the classroom buildings was very tiring for me, especially in extreme temperatures.
I remember when the first dorms were built and have been surprised to see how much of a shift there has been to a more "traditional" college setting. Next time I'm in the area to visit family, I want to drop in and have a look around the place to see how much it's changed. I still think SIUE has a pretty cool campus.
