Miscellaneous Musical Notes

Listening to Elvis. Wondering if anyone's ever written a Lovecraftean pastiche, "Are You Loathsome Tonight?".

I just ordered a Tommy James and the Shondells album. (The name evokes bubblegum in my mind, but this is the group that did "Crimson and Clover", "Draggin' the Line", and "Crystal Blue Persuasion". Pop it may be, but bubblegum it is not.)

I'm thinking I should add some more jazz to my collection. I know a lot of the big names, but are there any jazz fans out there who can recommend specific albums? (Maybe I should go after some big band stuff, too....)

Edited to fix the name of one song

I don't know anything about Latin Jazz. The only Latin singers in my collection are Shakira, Selena, and Ana Gabriel - plus Gloria Estefan, to the extent that she counts. (I'm thinking of "Si Voy a Perderte", "Oye Mi Canto", and her other Spanish-language songs. I find that when she does an English and a Spanish version of the same song, the Spanish version usually packs more punch. Same thing for Shakira: I bought one of her English-language albums, wasn't impressed, then bought the Spanish version and was much more pleased.)
