And So It Begins...
Fall Semester, that is. I'm teaching Calc II in the morning MWF; my other two classes - Introduction to Algebraic Structures and Foundations of Euclidean and Non-Euclidean Geometry - are back-to-back in the evening TTh. On those two evenings, that is, I'm teaching from 6:00 to 8:45. Of course, that's well past the time the relevant buses stop running. Also, no-one else in the department is teaching that late, so I can't mooch a ride off one of them. I'll figure something out...
Normally, I feed the dogs around 5:30 or 6:00 in the evening. Obviously that's not going to be practical on those nights. Today, before leaving, I put part of their food in their dishes, planning to give them the rest when I get home. Murphy dug right in, but Ben - always the anxious one - refused to be distracted. He followed me to the door and yipped at me as I gathered my things; after I went out, he ran into my bedroom (the windows there face the street I leave by) and howled. Needless to say, Murphy ate his food too. I'll have to work on that.
Still and all, it looks like it'll be a good semester. The two advanced classes are among my favorites to teach, and I have a few new pedagogical ideas for the algebra class. Tally-ho!
