Farscape Without Pity

Television Without Pity, one of my favorite TV recap/discussion sites, has begun recapping some episodes of Farscape. So far, they've done the premiere, I, E.T., A Human Reaction, and The Way We Weren't.

(Hmm. The premiere and "A Human Reaction" seem to be inaccessible at the moment. I hope that's not permanent!)

Edit: Oh, good, they're back. I forgot that they've also recapped Crackers Don't Matter.

Some of the recappers - Jacob and Couch Baron, in particular - are just wonderful. Let's see... the recapper for House is Sara M. Hmm. I've only seen a couple of her recaps for other shows, and don't have any feel for her style. (Sarah Bunting of Tomato Nation, whom I've often recommended, also recaps at TWoP, under the handle of Sars.)

I do have to say that I'm not sure why the recapper for Grey's Anatomy watches the show -- s/he doesn't seem to get a whole lot of enjoyment out of it. But it's still interesting.

Basically, the answer to that is that the recappers are paid to watch.

TWoP recaps tend to poke at perceived weaknesses in the shows - hence the name - and sometimes they go overboard. Still, when they're at their best (the shows, and the recaps) they can be both entertaining and illuminating.
