I was, as often, being hyperbolic (he said elliptically). If I were to dump columnists because I disagreed with them, Lileks would have been gone long since. I do find him amusing most of the time.

That said... dayum. WftP is one of my favorite movies, and Charles Laughton, jowls and all, is one of my favorite actors. Mutiny on the Bounty. The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Les Miserables. The Private Life of Henry VIII. Ruggles of Red Gap... He wasn't first-tier, but he was much better than most people (including, sadly, he himself) gave him credit for.
